Merry Christmas and Happy New Reading!

We might have wrapped up on borrowing for the year, but we’re already making our plans for what the book pile is going to look like over the summer holidays.  

Students also still have access to our library of over 4000 ebooks and 2000 audiobooks over the holidays, which includes some fantastic new releases alongside our well-loved classics. These titles can be accessed by logging in here and using either the search bar, or the browse option to narrow down what to read. 

As far as titles we’ve got our eye on, we’re looking forward to checking out: 

For younger readers, the much anticipated follow-up to Runt is now out, and available to read on our e-platform! Runt and the Diabolical Dognapping follows the story of Annie Shearer and her dog Runt, as they prepare for the canine Tournament of Champions. But when Runt mysteriously disappears before the competition, Annie suddenly has a mystery to solve! 

The final book in the much loved Black Cockatoo series has also recently been released, following the protagonist Mia in her final year of Conservation and Wildlife Science studies. However, she is recalled home as her beloved grandfather (jawiji) falls ill, and finds that she now needs to use her skills to protect her Country from a large corporation. 

For the football lovers 12 and up, This Season’s Draft is a great coming of age novel about six teenage football players who are juggling their lives with the possibility of making the AFL draft.  

This year in the Senior School library, two of our most popular genres were Crime/Mystery, and Romance. The new book from Jennifer Lynn Barnes combines the both, with a unique 2-in-1 form where you can read the story of Hannah Rooney as she finds love while trying to escape from her family of criminals, and then flip the book over and read the same story from the point of view of her love interest, Tobias Hawthorne II. 

Another well-loved title up at Senior School has been Lynn Painter’s Better Than The Movies, so we can’t wait to check out Painter’s new romance. In this new story, childhood friends reunite in a town where hockey players are worshipped like gods. One thing leads to another, and they find themselves in the complicated situation of having to pretend to be dating.
