“It Feels Like Christmas”

The wonderful Junior School ensembles contributed so much to the Carol Service last Tuesday. Orffestra, Suzuki Strings, Stringlings and Junior String instrumentalists performed for the procession and later took part in a musical reflection piece and the recessional music. The Year 1-4 Choir led the Carol singing and presented musical performances that contributed to the retelling of the Christmas story. They reminded us of the joy, peace, hope and love that the coming of Jesus brings. Thank you to the teachers who prepared the students and to the families who attended.

Congratulations Year 6!

Last week the Year 6 classes performed in concerts on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Each class performed a selection of pieces, individual students showcased their learning by playing solos, and the combined band featuring all the classes performing presented a climax piece.

Families were also treated to performances from the Gravity Band (Wednesday) and the Big Band (Thursday). These bands demonstrated the pathway ahead for Year 6 students who continue learning their instrument in private lessons.

As an incentive, the College has a special Year 7 offer. When having lessons, Year 7 wind students are eligible for free hire of an instrument and membership in the Gravity Band. They are also eligible to attend Music Camp.

Information is available below.

Learning an Instrument in 2026 – Don’t Miss Out!

While students can register to learn an instrument at any time throughout the year, teacher availability can determine when a student can commence.

Families are encouraged to register students before the end of the year for 2026.

Students can have lessons on numerous instruments. As outlined above there is a special offering for students in Year 7 who want to continue/start to learn a band wind instrument, and also for students in Prep and Year 1 who are beginning a string instrument.
