From the P & F

Dear Parents and Friends,

Term 2 has been both energising and productive. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all parents for your continued support and generous contributions. Our school community consistently demonstrates a strong spirit of collaboration and commitment.

A key focus of the Parents and Friends (P&F) Committee is to raise funds for essential school resources and to organise meaningful events such as Mother’s Day, Grandparents’ Day, and Father’s Day. Over the past two years, our major project has been the development of a new playground. We’re excited to share that we’ve made significant progress—designs have been finalised, plans approved, and tenders successfully secured.

However, as with many construction projects, costs have exceeded our initial expectations. One of the most significant expenses is the installation of softfall, which is crucial for ensuring the safety of our children. We have received quotes of approximately $48,000 for this component alone. As a result, our original goal of completing the playground by the end of Term 2 has been revised. We are currently in discussions with builders to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome in terms of cost, quality, and safety.

To date, we have raised an impressive $76,000—a testament to the generosity and dedication of our community. While we understand the excitement surrounding the playground, we appreciate your patience as we work towards commencing construction in the coming weeks.

Looking ahead, the P&F Committee and the school have several fundraising events planned. Our next event, the Colour Run, was a huge success last year, and we’re aiming to make this year’s even more memorable. Sponsorships from family and friends are greatly appreciated. We’ll also be sharing details about other upcoming events, including a school disco, later in the year. If you have any ideas or would like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to a P&F member.

For those interested in learning more about the playground project or our fundraising efforts, we warmly invite you to attend the next P&F meeting on Tuesday 17 June at 2pm.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community.

Warm regards,

Sean Sheridan
