Principal's Message

Thank You for a Joyful St Anthony’s Feast Week!
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all our amazing staff for embracing the fun and spirit of St Anthony’s Feast Day celebrations—especially those who bravely volunteered to be slimed by the students who raised the most money! It was an absolute delight to hear the children laughing, cheering, and thoroughly enjoying the spectacle. We’re sure it’s a memory many will treasure for years to come!
We are also incredibly grateful to all the students who contributed to our fundraising efforts—every dollar raised brings us closer to installing our soft fall area. Your generosity and community spirit are truly appreciated.
A special thank you goes to Sean Sheridan for organising the slime event in the afternoon—it was the perfect way to continue a week full of joy, love, and service, just as St Anthony would have wanted.
What a fabulous day we had on Friday to celebrate the Feast Day of St Anthony! The sun was shining, though cold, the sky was clear, and the spirit of community was alive and well at Burrows Park and Clovelly Beach.
The highlight of the day was our vibrant School Colour Run, where students, staff, and families came together in a burst of colour and energy. The children had an absolute blast participating in the run and building sandcastles by the sea. The joyful atmosphere was truly contagious!
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time, especially those who assisted with the BBQ and colour run. A special shout-out to Sean Sheridan for his fantastic organisation of the day – your efforts were truly appreciated!
We also extend our sincere thanks to Father Laurie, who celebrated Mass with us and reminded us of the importance of community, kindness, and faith on this special day.
In the words of St Anthony...
"Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak."

Semester 1 Reports
Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of reading all the STA first-semester student reports. These reports, which will be sent home vis Compass on Friday, June 20, reflect the progress each child has made in our core business—learning! I am extremely grateful to the teachers for their dedication and commitment to providing quality feedback to parents.
It is evident that the teachers have invested considerable time in understanding the children they have worked with throughout the semester. They have effectively communicated each child’s achievements and identified potential areas for future focus. Their insights and observations highlight the personal growth and academic development of each student, ensuring that parents are well-informed about their child's progress.
Attendance
I would like to thank all the parents who bring their child/children to school on time. I am urging others who are consistently running late to check their morning routine and make adjustments so that your child/ children come to school on time. Consistently coming to school late has an adverse effect on children’s learning outcomes so let’s work together to eliminate arriving late at STA.
School attendance is important as it maximises life opportunities for children by providing them with education and support networks. Positive and regular engagement with schooling enhances academic and wellbeing outcomes for children. Supporting children to arrive on time and to regularly attend school is a joint responsibility of all parents, students, the school and the wider community. We need to ensure that our children have the best possibilities to thrive and flourish to their full potential.
SCS Choir Eisteddfod
Last week was a truly special one, as 50 of our talented students from Years 3 to 6 participated in the SCS Choir Eisteddfod at Sutherland. It was an amazing experience for all involved, and the children sang beautifully, performing "Somewhere Only We Know" with stunning harmonies that captivated the judges and audience.
We are incredibly proud to share that our choir achieved 3rd place — a fantastic result that reflects their hard work, dedication, and passion for music. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs McInness for her unwavering support and expert guidance in preparing the choir. Your leadership made this achievement possible.
Congratulations to all our wonderful singers!

School fee statements are emailed at the beginning of each month. Parents have the option to pay their child's school fees annually, quarterly (per term), monthly or fortnightly. There are a number of families that are behind on payment of their school fees, we would ask that you ensure that these are kept up to date.
