Student Learning

Foundation

Students learnt the process of publishing a book last week. First they brainstormed ideas, did a plan, a draft and then published their amazing stories. Prep G and Prep B then came together to share and celebrate what they had created.

Students learnt about the concept of patterns in maths by using lots of different resources to create different patterns.

Prep students participated in Simultaneous Reading day! We enjoyed sharing the book Truck Cat with everyone.

Students look forward to their Skillzone sessions each week! They have been learning ball skills & working as a team!

During Art stude Birds copying Anna Blatmans style. Spirals...for fine motor

Year 1/2

Reading: We have started our minibeast unit. As part of our learning, we explored the features of the non-fiction text we are using. We discussed the difference between a contents page and an index, and learned how to use a glossary to find definitions.

Writing: To link our reading and writing, the students have each chosen a minibeast to research and write an information report about. They have gathered interesting facts about their chosen creature and labelled a detailed diagram to support their writing.

PE: In PE, we have enjoyed working in teams to develop and practise our throwing skills through a variety of fun activities.

Year 3/4

3/4 Mappen unit this term is researching an Australian Symbol. Topics include The Australian Flag, The Commonwealth Coat of Arms, Southern Cross and the Aboriginal Flag. Keep you eye out next week for the posters!

Year 5/6

The Year 5/6 group has been taking part in winter sports each Friday, showing fantastic participation and sportsmanship across all sports.

Last Wednesday, the Year 6 students visited Cobram Secondary College for a taster day, where they experienced a glimpse of high school life and explored a range of specialist subjects. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
