Another busy term for the CATT Faculty with Stage 6 subject selection, work experience and various program and opportunities.
We have had numerous students out on work experience this term. We extend our sincere thanks to the many local businesses and organisations who generously hosted our students for work experience placements. Your support plays a vital role in helping young people explore potential career paths, develop real-world skills, and gain confidence in professional environments. These opportunities are incredibly valuable and help bridge the gap between education and the world of work.
A group of our students recently had the unique opportunity to visit Garden Island and take part in a Navy Immersion Program aboard HMAS Kuttabul. This hands-on experience offered students a fascinating insight into life in the Royal Australian Navy, with guided tours, interactive activities, and the chance to speak directly with serving personnel. The excursion was both educational and inspiring, broadening students’ understanding of maritime careers and the role of the Navy in national defence.
Congratulations to our latest group of students who successfully completed their White Card training—an essential certification for anyone wishing to work in the construction industry. This nationally recognised qualification equips students with the knowledge of safe work practices, risk management, and workplace responsibilities. Gaining their White Card is a valuable step toward future employment opportunities in construction and related trades.
A group of enthusiastic students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Google’s Sydney headquarters for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. The experience offered a unique look into one of the world’s leading tech companies, showcasing not only the innovative work being done but also the dynamic and collaborative environment that fuels it.
During the tour, students explored the vibrant workspace, learned about Google’s cutting-edge projects, and heard from staff about the wide range of careers available in technology—from software engineering and product design to marketing and cybersecurity. The visit also included interactive sessions and Q&A opportunities, where students were able to ask questions and gain insights into what it’s like to work at a global tech company.
This immersive experience inspired many students to consider future pathways in STEM and highlighted the importance of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning in the modern workforce.
A huge thank you to the team at Google Sydney for welcoming our students and offering such a memorable and motivating experience!
