Welcome!

A message from the Principal
Division Cross Country
On Friday, 16th May, the Division Cross Country was held at Bendigo Racecourse. The weather was perfect, and over 20 students proudly represented St. Peter’s Primary School. Congratulations to all the students who participated and did their best. Well done on your efforts and dedication!
Walk to School
On Friday, 16th May, we celebrated National Walk to School Day. It was fantastic to see over 15 students meeting several of our staff at the Bendigo RSL carpark and making the journey to school together. Walking to school is not only a great way to stay active, but it also helps reduce traffic and pollution, making it better for our environment. Well done to all those who made the effort to walk – your commitment to keeping active is inspiring!
Athletics Day
This Friday, we’ll be hosting our Athletics Day. The day will start at 12:00 pm with Years 3-6 participating in their athletic events. Our Junior students from Prep to Year 2 will join in the fun from 2:20 pm. Please note, there will be NO ASSEMBLY this week. At the conclusion of the day, we’ll have a presentation ceremony at 3:00 pm in the Ampitheatre, where we’ll celebrate the age group champions and present school value awards. It promises to be a fun and exciting day for all!
Enrolment Closure Date
This Friday, 23rd May is the enrolment closure date for all Catholic Primary Schools. If you have a child who is hoping to start at St. Peter’s in 2026, please ensure that you have completed the online enrolment form available on our school website at St Peters Bendigo - Apply Now. If you know any families who are interested in enrolling, please let them know about the deadline and encourage them to submit their forms online or contact the school for more information.
National Simultaneous Storytime
This Wednesday, 21st May, we will participate in National Simultaneous Storytime. This annual event promotes reading and literacy across Australia, and this year’s book is "The Truck Cat" by Deborah Frenkel. Many of our students are already familiar with this book, and we are looking forward to taking part in this exciting event!
Upcoming Closure Day
A reminder that Tuesday, 17th June will be a school closure day for our staff to participate in further professional development as part of Sandhurst Magnify. Recently, our staff focused on the Science of Learning, and next on the agenda is Knowledge Society and a classroom master class. Please mark this date in your calendars. This closure day comes the week after the King’s Birthday long weekend on Monday, 9th June.
Prayer for the New Pope
Dear God,
We thank you for our new Pope, Pope Leo XIV.
Guide him with wisdom, love, and strength,
As he leads the Church and helps us grow in faith.
May he inspire us to be kind, to help others, and to live with love and hope.
Bless our new Pope as he begins this important journey,
And may we all follow his example of caring for others and living with peace.
Amen.
God Bless,
Jeremy Darmody
