2025 AToSS Survey

In valuing student voice as a means to improving student engagementwellbeing and quality instruction, we conduct the Student Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) to find out what our students inherently think of your school.

The AtoSS  is conducted annually in Term 2 for all students in Years 4 to 12 (Rooms 10-27 only) are invited to participate. The year, the survey comprises of 23 questions in full.

The assessment window is from Monday 26th May - Friday 13th June.

The 2025 AtoSS questions has been adapted in order to enable more students at JSA to better understand the questions being asked, and to provide a functionally appropriate way for students to express their authentic responses.

At JSA, we use the AToSS Short Scale Version #2, because it:

  • suitable for students with a recognised cognitive impairment
  • has reduced language
  • has responses that are supported with matching visuals
  • has responses that comprise of a modified 3-point scale

For each question in the Short Scale version, the wording has been adapted to include more concrete concepts which may be more familiar to students who are working and communicating at Levels A-D of the Victorian Curriculum. Those concepts are represented by familiar visuals.

The 2025 Student AToSS Timeline is as follows:
