Want to analyse society, excel in leadership and communicate with impact? Commencing in 2026, Deakin will be introducing the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics/Bachelor of Communication.
Offered at the Burwood and Waurn Pond Campuses, this new double degree will teach students how to be an ethical leader, skilled communicator and opinion shaper.Whether one’s goal is to influence policy, lead public relations campaigns, or work in NGOs or private enterprise, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to excel.

At Deakin, the Bachelor of Property and Real Estate is designed to bridge the gap between study and industry, offering both mentoring and real-world learning experiences to enhance student employability.
Mentoring Program
The faculty has introduced new mentoring initiative connecting second-year students with senior professionals from Herron Todd White, Mirvac, Knight Frank, EY, and the Victorian School Building Authority. Through one-on-one mentorship, students gain tailored career advice and build invaluable professional networks.
Practical Industry Experience
Students engage in real-world simulated projects, such as valuing their own homes and developing proposals for current market properties. Guest lectures from EY, Opteon, and Crabtrees Real Estate provide direct industry insights, ensuring graduates are ready for the evolving property sector.
Professional recognition
The Bachelor of Property and Real Estate is professionally accredited by the Australian Property Institute (API) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Furthermore, Deakin Business School is AACSB and EQUIS accredited, ensuring global recognition and academic excellence. Graduates meet the academic requirements for Certified Practising Valuer membership. In addition to a standalone Bachelor of Property and Real Estate, Deakin also offers several double degrees allowing students to expand their skills and career options. These include double degrees in law, commerce, architecture and construction management.
The VCE prerequisite is Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English EAL (English as an Additional Language) or at least 20 in English other than EAL. Students who attain an ATAR of 60.00 are guaranteed a spot in this course.
