VET Sport and Recreation Excursion

The VET Sport and Recreation class during the month of May worked with our neighbouring school, Tarneit P-9, to provide opportunities for our up-and-coming coaches to lead coaching sessions for junior-aged participants.

They worked on their ability to plan, refine, and adapt their coaching sessions to meet the needs of all of their participants. The students planned a range of soccer training sessions for almost 50 students, coming up with a circuit-style system of games and training drills to work on their skills by keeping all of the participants active and having fun.

The students were praised by members of the school staff for their professionalism, organisation, and ability to develop rapport with their students. I am proud of their progress and am looking forward to their future excursion to the Melbourne Escape Rooms to see how recreation sessions are delivered firsthand (as part of their Deliver Recreation Sessions unit)!
