Staying on Track with Assessments

This term has been busy, and Year 8 students have shown great commitment to keeping up with their assessments. As the workload increases, staying organised and approaching tasks with a clear plan can help reduce stress. Prioritising deadlines, breaking assignments into smaller steps, and finding time to review work are all useful strategies. Maintaining focus during lessons and setting aside time to revise can also make a big difference in managing assessments effectively.

Respectful Relationships and Social Media: Boundaries, Empathy, and Online Interactions

Respectful relationships—both online and offline—are built on strong foundations of understanding, kindness, and clear boundaries. Whether interacting with friends, teachers, or peers on social media, it’s important to create a safe and supportive environment.

  • Setting Healthy Boundaries: Boundaries help protect personal space and emotional wellbeing. This means knowing when to step away from conversations that feel uncomfortable and respecting others’ right to privacy—both in person and online. Always ask before sharing information or photos about someone else, and be mindful of what you post.
  • Practicing Empathy: Empathy is about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and considering their feelings before responding. Whether face-to-face or online, taking a moment to think about how your words and actions might impact others can make a big difference in fostering positive relationships.
  • Using Social Media Mindfully: The digital world can be a great place to connect, but it also requires responsibility. Be kind in online interactions, avoid engaging in negativity, and be aware that not everything posted online reflects reality. Social media should be a space that uplifts and informs—not a place that causes stress or pressure.

By setting respectful boundaries and practicing empathy, students can create stronger and healthier connections with their peers.

Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to Year 8 for their fantastic attendance and engagement in the Athletics Carnival on Monday! I was very proud to see the school spirit in full swing and how all of the students were willing to give the events a go and earn points for their house. Congratulations to those students who achieved fantastic results and will represent St Aloysius at the Conference level.

Let’s keep working towards an exciting and productive term!
