What a fantastic week we had for Education Week!
We truly value the opportunity to welcome our community into our school to celebrate not only the incredible work we do, but also to acknowledge the vital role our community plays in supporting us. This ongoing support is essential to the success and wellbeing of our school—it helps foster a sense of connection, belonging, and shared purpose.
We hosted an Open Night to showcase what our school has to offer prospective families, and we were pleased to see strong interest from families of 2026 Prep students. We also held an Open Morning, where members of the community were invited to experience what learning looks like at our school.
The highlight of the week, however, was our Volunteers' Lunch. We were proud to host over 100 attendees, including staff, students, and more than 20 dedicated volunteers. Our students planned, prepared, and served a delicious two-course meal, demonstrating not only their skills but also their gratitude for the amazing people who give their time to support our school.
I am incredibly proud of all our students who participated in the Athletics carnival. Athletics provides students with the opportunity to take part in a range of events, including sprints, long-distance running, hurdles, long jump, high jump, discus, and shot put.
These events not only promote physical fitness and coordination but also help students develop valuable skills such as perseverance, goal setting, resilience, and teamwork. Athletics encourages students to challenge themselves, support their peers, and celebrate both individual and collective achievements.
Well done to everyone who gave their best effort—we are so proud of your dedication and sportsmanship.
Parents and Friends Hot Lunches – How Lucky Are We?
We are incredibly fortunate to have such an active and committed Parents and Friends group supporting our school. Every fortnight, they generously prepare and serve delicious hot lunches to our students and staff.
This week’s meal was a crowd favourite—spaghetti bolognese! It was a warm and hearty lunch that brought smiles to many faces.
We truly thank our Parents and Friends for their ongoing efforts and dedication. Their support adds so much to the sense of community at our school, and we are deeply grateful.
I’ve had the pleasure of attending local football and netball games most weekends, and it’s been wonderful to see our incredible community come together. These events are a fantastic opportunity for students and families to form new friendships, support one another, and enjoy playing alongside their peers.
The excitement and joy on the court and field are truly heartwarming. It’s definitely a highlight of my week to come in on Monday morning and hear students proudly share their achievements and memorable moments from the weekend.
I often speak about how amazing our Cooking Program is, but I’m equally proud of our Library for Littlies program, which has been running at IPS for eight years. It continues to be a truly magical moment of connection—where students come together to share the joy of stories and a love of learning.
Today, we welcomed our youngest Library for Littlies participant, Theo. I have no doubt this special time will soon become the highlight of his week.
