GYMNASTICS

Gymnastics National Championships

We are thrilled to share some exciting news of one of our talented students, Michaela (C9). In May, Michaela, along with her trio partners, represented Team NSW in Acrobatics Gymnastics at the National Gymnastics Championships held on the Gold Coast. Despite facing persistent injuries in the weeks leading up to the competition, Michaela and her teammates displayed remarkable determination and dedication. They showcased their extraordinary skills in three amazing routines and achieved outstanding results in various categories. Michaela and her trio partners achieved the following remarkable results:

  • Combined Routine: 1st Place
  • Balance and Dynamic Routine: 2nd Place
  • Overall: 1st Place (tied) - Earning them the coveted title of National Champions in level 8 Women's group!

Moreover, their exceptional performance not only secured their individual victory but also contributed significantly to Team NSW success. Their collective efforts helped the NSW Acrobatics team secure the Interstates title! Well done, Michaela!

RUGBY

Congratulations to Riven (P4) and Hamish (P5) who were part of the winning team last weekend for Collaroy Cougars U10s. It was a hard fought match against the Western Raptors, with the boys winning on the buzzer. Well done boys.

Recently, Ashton (P6), Lachlan (G7), and James (G7) received the honor of being chosen for the Manly Marlins Rugby Union Development Squad. During the school holidays, they diligently trained together and competed in numerous matches against teams hailing from various parts of Sydney, such as Randwick and Warringah.

Looking ahead to the upcoming school holidays in October, Ashton and Lachlan are set to embark on an exciting rugby tour in Fiji. There, they will engage in multiple matches against local teams and also have the privilege of visiting schools within the local community. We wish these talented young athletes the best of luck on their adventure!

A round of applause for two exceptional students, Maddie (C8) and Talea (C10), who recently showcased their rugby prowess on a grand stage. These bright talents proudly represented Sydney's under 16s team at the Sydney v Country Junior Rugby Championships for the Mahalia Murphy Shield, held in Maitland last month.

Their dedication and skill were undeniable as their team emerged victorious, standing as the sole Sydney girls team to secure a win. The match was a testament to resilience, with a trilling comeback from being three tries down at halftime, creating an unforgettable and exciting game.

Congratulations to Maddie and Talea for this impressive success – a true testament to dedication and the spirit of the game. Let's rally behind these exceptional athletes and the inspiring path they illuminate for women's rugby.

Her responsibilities included assisting with relay selection, fostering team ethos, nurturing team culture, and inspiring team spirit. Her dedication to this role not only makes her a role model for fellow swimmers but also underscores her exceptional leadership abilities.

Lillie's journey, both in the pool and as a leader, is truly remarkable, and we couldn't be prouder of her accomplishments. Please join us in celebrating Lillie's exceptional achievements and her inspiring role as a leader within the NSW All Schools Swim Team.
