Clever Class | Grade 1 

Throughout NAIDOC Week, Grade 1 students explored a variety of texts and Dreamtime stories to help us understand our country’s history in relation to our FIrst Nations people. We shared the book Finding out Heart written by Thomas Mayor, which was a wonderful book to educate all of us about the Uluru Statement. We researched Uluru and had a lot of questions and wondering moments. 

We created a piece of artwork using watercolour paint and an Aboriginal flag inspired collage heart. We spoke about respecting our First Nation’s land and culture and we wrote about how we can make a difference in our daily lives to contribute to caring and respecting our past and our futures.
