Year 4 News

Literacy

Children have been busy applying their skills of read to self, read to someone and writing when gathering information for their newly launched project and oral presentation on an Australian Explorer.

We hope to be learning new things about one another’s explorers to add to our knowledge about 'Where we Are in Place and Time' when students present their projects to one another as a learning task.

Prior to this learning task students completed a 'Caught in the Act' poster. They dressed as convicts and then wrote a piece from the perspective of a police officer arresting the convict. Students wrote very creative recounts. Here are a few samples. The teachers were very impressed! Well done year 4!

Maths

We are working on mapping and fractions and decimals. Check out the song that we’ve been listening to that helps with our understanding of place value.

Here are our learner profile award winners, Takai 4A, Nora 4B and Mina 4C. They were principled and inquirers. Well done girls!
