This Week's Updates

Dear Families,

What an exciting week we have ahead of us! We are looking forward to presenting our "Change for a Better World' concert with our school community on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Then, on Friday we celebrate our fathers and father figures at our Father's Day breakfast. Also, we are looking forward to having Dave back on Tuesday in time for the first night of our school concert.

Here are some updates for the week.

Concert Rehearsal

Last Friday we had a full dress rehearsal with our students. Needless to say they all did a great job at rehearing the performance with their level! We are very proud of the amazing efforts demonstrated by all students and their energy and effort put in to their performance. On Tuesday, staff and students will be going to Crossway to practise rehearsing their performance on the stage, including entering and exiting the stage.

Concert Parking Supervisors Volunteers

We are still seeking parents who are able to help out with directing Parking on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. If you can volunteer 30 minutes of your time on one or both evenings we would greatly appreciate it. Please email or phone the office if you require any further information.

Concert Production

Please access parent information regarding our concert via the link below.

Check out our new concert page with all the up to date information you need.

Learning Conferences

Please look out for information that will be sent out to parents later this week regarding our Learning Conferences happening in Week 10 (13/08/23).

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School Survey Improvement School (MACSSIS) Surveys

The MACSSIS survey period begins today and closes on 15 September 2023. Please look out for an email with a link to the survey, along with your individualised password.

School Hats

A reminder that students will be expected to wear their school hats when outdoors from September 1st. A ‘No Hat, No Play’ approach is taken beginning after the first week of September.  Following this, students will be asked to sit under a shady area if they are not wearing a hat.

Father's Day Breakfast

We are looking forward to celebrating our fathers and father figures this Friday ahead of Father's Day this Sunday. Thank you to all the parents on our P & F committee who have organised the morning and to parents who have volunteered their time to help out on Friday!

Indigenous Literacy Day

Wednesday 6th September is Indigenous Literacy Day.  On this day, we will also be holding our ‘St James Great Book Swap’.   Students are invited to bring in a ‘pre-loved’ book.  For a gold coin donation, they will be able to select another ‘pre-loved’ book to take home. Students can bring books in from Monday 4th September, ready for Wednesday.  The library monitors will set up our 'swap' and the students will be assisted with making their selections. We look forward to a successful morning raising awareness and funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation!

2024 Enrolments at St James

We are expecting that all current families/students in Years Prep - Five will be returning to St James next year. If your family/child will not be returning next year, please contact the school office as soon as possible. We currently have waiting lists for many levels across the school.
