Sport at Homestead

Every day Matters

District Athletics

On a cold and rainy Wednesday on August 30, students from Homestead participated in the Hobsons Bay Division Athletics Carnival. All students ignored the harsh conditions on the day and competed in a range of track and field events, including sprints, long distance running, high jump, long jump, shot put, and more. Each student represented the college with great pride and exemplary attitude on the day, and we are extremely proud of them. We can’t wait to see the students represent the college at the next round of athletics

Homestead Sports Academy

Term 3 was another successful term for the Homestead Sports Academy. We began the term by focusing on basketball. It was a great turnout with a mixture of both, males and females attending each week. It was great to see the skills and teamwork evolve over time. We are extremely proud of the dedication from the students, to be there each week, with great attitudes. It really makes the Academy a great place to be.

This semester we have also been working on a design for the Sports Academy and creating a unique sports top which will be available for purchase in 2024.

Basketball

During Term 3, Homestead was lucky enough to send 6 teams to represent the college in Basketball. This was the biggest turnout we have had for a single sport, and we are extremely proud of each of the students. All students represented the college with passion and respect. It was a pleasure to send each team and watch them work together on the court. The leadership skills shown by many of the students, was a sight to behold, and we at Homestead are consistently proud of them.
