Visual Arts Update

Hello everyone.

What an amazing and creative term for all students who learned a lot. Students participated in creating props for the production and viewed various teachers creating their own masterpieces. So much inspiration.

Students had a great time creating their own art as well and designed amazing pieces.

St Anthony's is a talented school.

Preps worked on many methods creating their jellyfish painting. This included learning about cool and warm colours, painting with watercolour and oil pastels and folding paper for the tentacles.

Year 1 /2 students learned the technique of yarn painting and were inspired by the Mexican Huichol yarn art style. They used their fine motor skills and created a yarn art mobiles. Students also enjoyed learning how to use charcoal and learned various techniques like shading.

The Year 3/ 4 students modelled with air dry clay and made their ‘initial’ wall hanging. They painted with acrylic paints and added puffer paint for 3D detail. Students also enjoyed the process of digital art and designed their own modern version of an image influenced by the art form Pop Art.

The Year 5 /6  students modelled with air dry clay and made adorable house wall hangings. The Students were asked by the Greater City of Dandenong to participate in celebrating Noble Park project. They are making and decorating lanterns that will be featured in the local area. The students have been inspired by their school, local area and cultural background for their design influence. They are creating beautiful lanterns.

Thank you all and hope you have enjoyed some samples of artwork from St Anthony’s.
