Principal's Address

Hello Moonie families,

National Child Protection Week.

We recognise that delivering child protection messages is key to ensuring that children in our communities, families and schools are safe, nurtured and protected. One of the ways we contribute to establishing and nurturing these safe environments is by participating in National Child Protection Week. This week, our students will be participating in online webinars delivered by The Daniel Morcombe Foundation to learn how to identify clues that our bodies set off when feeling unsafe, how to react and report when this happens, and how to seek, give or deny permission respectfully when sharing possessions or personal space. We encourage parents to follow up on this with conversations about these topics at home.

School visitors and additional activities coming up.

On Tuesday, the two classes will engage in an online student safety lesson provided by The Daniel Morcombe Foundation. On Wednesday, we will welcome visitors from the NRL game development branch. The reps will run some activities for students in all grades.  On Thursday, all students will enjoy a visit from surf life savers who will come and teach us about beach and water safety.

Father’s Breakfast.

Thank you to all of the dads who took time out of their busy week to attend our breakfast last week. It means a lot to the kids when you come to see their work and view their classrooms. We hope you all had a wonderful day on Sunday.  Please enjoy the attached photos.

Regional Track and Field Trials

Congratulations to Douglas, Hallie, Heidi & Josie who travelled to St. George on Wednesday & Thursday to compete in the Athletics Carnival.  Josie achieved a 1st in the 800m.
