NAPLAN 2025

NAPLAN Overview

The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students is held in March each year. In 2025, the NAPLAN test window is between Wednesday 12th March and Monday 24th March. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals and measure each student’s achievement in relation to the expectations for their current stage of schooling.

Key Dates and Times

NAPLAN testing dates are established by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) well in advance of testing years and accommodate different term dates in all states and territories. Please refer to the table below that contains relevant dates and testing times for our Year 3 and Year 5 students.

Year 3 and Year 5 parents and carers are encouraged to refer to Compass where further information has previously been communicated to families in these year levels.
