Principal's Message

It never ceases to amaze me, just how much happens in two weeks at ENPS! Another fantastic two weeks and so, so many wonderful things happening across our school!

Just in this week we have had Clean Up Australia Day on Monday afternoon, our school photos on Tuesday, the Year Two transport excursion to the city on Wednesday and we finalised the School Council election process as well!

Our staff have put the final touches (or should I say hand prints!) on the ENPS Values Mural and it looks absolutely fabulous. Everyone has now shown their commitment to being safe, kind and respectful by leaving their hand print on the wall. What a remarkable achievement the mural is and so symbolic of our incredible school community.

We have had 34 students last week compete in the district swimming carnival. What a fantastic achievement to represent our school! Congratulations to them all! Good luck to Georgia, Zadie and Tiffany who will now complete in the Divisional Carnival next week!

Over the past two weeks I have also had the pleasure to have lunch with and hear some fantastic and very innovative ideas to improve our school from Jake (1NV), Leo (2LK), Mia (6MP), Luna (1AM) and their selected friends, who were the recipients of our School Wide Positive Behaviour Student of the Week Awards. Jake, Leo, Mia and Luna received a free lunch order from Classroom Cuisine and got to have lunch with me as their prize for being safe, kind and respectful at school.  This has certainly become the highlight of my week! I am already looking forward having lunch next Thursday with our latest recipients, Harper (4AK) and Reina (6AI)!

School Council

Thank you to everyone who voted in our 2025 School Council Election. As a result, we congratulate Amrita Prasad and Josh Briggs- Kelly  as the elected parent members for the two year tenure of March 2025- March 2027. We take the opportunity to thank Merter Kavas, Niki Khan and Anil Arslan for their nominations. We especially thank Merter Kavas as an outgoing member of our School Council and President for the past two years. We thank Mert for his time and contributions to our school and community over the past four years as an outgoing parent member of our School Council.

As new School Council members, Amrita and Josh, along with our School Employee representatives Alice Stephens, Morgan King and Darcy Wynd will join our next School Council meeting with existing members, on Monday 17th March.

Monday 17th March will also be an opportunity for our community to attend our 2024 Annual Public meeting. This will be held at 6pm. The purpose of this meeting is to share with our community our Annual Report from 2024. Details for this can be found on the School Council page.

Professional Learning at ENPS

What you may not always realise is that behind the scenes our staff are continuously learning and developing professionally. Our staff meet each week on Tuesday and Wednesdays after school, and you may even find sometimes your child’s home group teacher is replaced by a Casual Relief Teacher (CRT) while they are participating in professional learning throughout the day.

On Wednesday afternoon we had just about all of our ENPS staff complete our First Aid and CPR practical training and assessment. Every three years we update our First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training, and every year we update our CPR accreditations.

At ENPS we make the decision to train as many staff as we can in First Aid. We don’t have to do this as this is well above the Department of Education compliance requirements, however we value and prioritise this training to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and community.

Over the coming weeks we will have a number of staff involved in the Department of Education’s Transforming the First Years of Teaching program. This is a wonderful program supporting teachers new to a career in education alongside their mentors. At ENPS it is important to us that our teachers are supported in their professional learning and growth.

Our staff also learn a lot from and with each other. Peer observations, coaching with our Learning Specialists and our Professional Learning Community (PLC) inquiries provide tremendous opportunities for our individual and collective professional learning and growth as educators.

Connecting Families to School

At ENPS, we really value our connection with families and actively strive to provide opportunities to connect parents and carers to their child’s classroom learning. We acknowledge and respect that every family is different and therefore it is important to us that we provide a variety of entry points and opportunities for all our families.

Community events like our VIP open classroom sessions, start of year picnic, parent helpers in the classroom or volunteers on excursions, are all ways we aim to promote connection and a sense of belonging for our community. We encourage all families to save the date for our Community Engagement events coming up throughout the year, and look out for year level specific events coming up through our Unit of Inquiry flyers.

So many of our events and activities rely on the assistance of our community members. A huge shout out to the 28 parent/carers and staff who have already come forward to help out with our Countries of ENPS cultural celebration day coming up on Friday March 21st . Whether it is helping out at events, becoming members of our School Council Sub Committees or supporting our school fundraising, we are incredibly grateful.

2026 Open Day and Enrolments

A reminder that there is a Department of Education (DET) state-wide enrolment process and timeline for Foundation in 2026.  If you have a child/ren to be enrolled at ENPS in Foundation in 2026, please note that our Open Day will be on Thursday 1st May. Enrolment applications will be accepted from Week One, Term Two – Tuesday 22nd April onwards. 2026 Foundation enrolments are due to the office by Friday 25th July 2025.

I take the opportunity to remind families that we do have a school enrolment policy. We encourage existing families with children ready to start school in 2026 to get their enrolment forms in to the office early so we can begin processing them to confirm places as soon as we can with the state timeline. For more information, please see the Enrolment page on our website.

Wishing everyone a well deserved wonderful long weekend. Ramadan Mubarak to all of our families observing Ramadan. See you all next week.
