Performing Arts

Hi Everyone!
All classes have explored their units of inquiry further over the last two weeks. Read on to find out what we’ve been doing…
Foundation students have been practising moving and acting as their favourite Little Red Riding Hood characters.
Year One and Two students have been devising drama from two different starting points over the last two weeks - a scenario and also a piece of music.
Year Three and Four students have explored ‘Non-Naturalistic Drama’ through Transformation of Character and Transformation of Object. Students chose two completely different characters to transform between and used a prop as different objects.
The photos below are of 3AC performing their non-naturalistic drama work in progress.
Year Five and Six students have started their creative process for designing their own Improvised Drama Game. They must include things like a title, an aim, rules of the game, a detailed description of how the Elements of Drama are used in the game as well as a demonstration of the game.
We are looking forward to the next few weeks of Performing Arts and seeing what the students create in their groups!
