Year Two

Year Two's Transport Adventure: Learning, Exploring, and Traveling Safely!
What a fantastic week Year Two students have had, filled with exciting learning experiences! Last week, we were lucky enough to have a special visit from an education officer from Metro Trains. Annika taught us all about how to travel safely on trains, giving us some important tips to ensure we are always safe while exploring our community by rail. After the talk about travelling safely on trains, we created posters to raise awareness and share important safety tips with others.
To bring our learning to life, we set off on an exciting excursion on Wednesday! We caught a tram, then hopped on a train all the way into the city. Along the way, we observed the different modes of transport around us, especially the bustling Yarra River, and discussed the role of transport in our community. It was the perfect way to put our current unit of inquiry on transport into action!
After our amazing day of exploring, we hopped on a bus to head back to school, reflecting on all the different ways we can travel and how they connect us to the world around us. This hands-on adventure really helped us dive deep into the various types of transport we see every day and how they help make our community work.
A big thank you to all the students for being such enthusiastic learners! And a special thank you to the wonderful parent helpers who made this journey possible. Your support and assistance ensured that our day ran smoothly and safely. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Looking ahead, we are excited to dive into our next inquiry line: How has transport changed over time? We can’t wait to explore how transport has evolved throughout history and how it has shaped our world today. Stay tuned for more exciting learning ahead!
