Year 4 Camp Experience

Camp Adanac - March 2025
Water Action Tower
By: Lily, Rosie, Ella, Evanka, and Danvi
When we were lining up, Jemma (the instructor) was checking our life jackets. After we put on our life jackets, we went onto a deck and safely got into the water. When we first got in, the water was a bit shallow, but as we got closer to the action tower, it got deeper and deeper.
When you climb up to start, you’ll see green inflatable tubes. You need to balance on them or crawl across them. There is only one person at a time. If you fall through the triangle shapes, you have to grab onto the corner, put your legs back on the tubes, and pull yourself up.
After the green tubes, you have to climb up a rope or some handles to get to the top. Sometimes, you might fall off because the rope can be unsteady.
When you climb up, you have two choices: sliding down or jumping off. The first thing I did was jump off. It was so scary at first, but once you did it, you would want to do it over and over again. When you slide down, it’s very fast and very freaky, but as I said, you’d want to do it over and over again.
Camp Site Tour
By: William and Levi
Before we went on the site tour, we put our luggage away, found our cabins, and had lunch. We then went to the cafeteria where we would be eating. After lunch, we checked out the game room, which had basketball and table tennis. Then, we went to the Flying Fox, which was so much fun. We'll get to that in a couple of paragraphs! We saw a campfire, the low ropes course, beach volleyball area, and the oval, where the hut building was next. We then went to the lake, which had an inflatable tower and a water slide that went from the top of the hill to the bottom. That was the end of the site tour.
Waterslide
By: Rainee, Tamara, Moriah, Issy, and Hazel
One of the camp activities was the waterslide. The waterslide took place at the edge of a hill. It was huge and long. When we went down the concrete slide, it was a bit bumpy. As we went down, we could even feel the wind blowing against our bodies. It was so much fun, but also really FAST. When we reached the bottom, there was algae. The slide was so awesome that we decided to go down again! We all got about 1-3 turns.
Flying Fox
By: Tilly, Ivy, Evie and Benjamin
At camp, we went on a Flying Fox ride! It looked so freaky, but it was so fun. We started with the rules – one of them was doing flips. Frankie volunteered to show us what we were meant to do. Mason was on the bicycle; the bicycle could bring the hook back. I was second on the Flying Fox. When I went on, I was a bit nervous, but they told me the string wouldn’t break. As I went on, I felt like I was flying. It was so fast, and I loved the wind in my face. Honestly, if I could, I would do it again.
On the Flying Fox, we went over the lake, and some of us had to yell out our favorite foods. I yelled "doughnuts," and some people yelled their favourite colors. It was so fast, and when it was done, the people on the flycycle had to pretend they were riding a bike to bring the thing the people were attached to when on the Flying Fox.
The Flying Fox was so fun! We went over the lake, and it looked so exciting. I even did a dance move on the way down!

The Flying Fox was one of my favourite activities!
Low Ropes
By: Tirth and Ashan
The Low Ropes course had lots of ropes and obstacle courses. Low ropes was really fun but also really hard!
Food at Camp
By: Milla, Zara, Kaya, and Meika
Dinner
The food at camp was so good! For dinner, we had spaghetti bolognese, salad, and the best
garlic bread EVER! The chefs were Rachelle and Nicki. After dinner, we had to clean our table, and the cleanest table got to have dessert first. Of course, our table won! So, we got to have vanilla ice cream with lots of toppings to choose from. At the end, the cleanest table got to leave first – and that was our table again!
Breakfast
For breakfast, we could choose from delicious porridge, cereal, or anything on toast. We also had apple juice. We all did the Macarena dance, and then breakfast was over.
Lunch
At lunch, we had delicious burgers with lots of different sauces to choose from, plus cordial and lemonade. Then, they asked us to do some breakdancing!
Snack
For snacks, we had hot jam donuts, Zooper Doopers, and fruit. It was so yummy!
Canoeing
By: Ben, Nicholas, Frankie, Kyle, and Paddy
On Tuesday, the Year 4s went to camp! The bus ride was about 45 minutes. When we got there, we checked out our cabins. Now, we’re talking about canoeing! We all sat with a partner, and we splashed Mr. Harvey. The kids totally annihilated Mr. Harvey with water. Kyle attempted to roll over the canoe – sooo fun (though the teacher denied that). It was so much fun!
Hut Building
By: James, Anishka, Dallan, and Zach
Hut building was an exciting challenge. We had to use materials to build our own huts. It was tough but also really fun!
Night Walk
By: Xander
The Night Walk was fun. We had torches and warm clothes on. We were looking for animals in the dark, and I heard a kookaburra. After the Night Walk, we went inside and watched a movie all together. After the movie, I went to my cabin with my friends and went to sleep!
Cabins
By: Darren and Ashton
The people in our cabin were Dallan, Ashton, Ben, and Darren. It was the best because the beds were very comfy and soft. It was the best experience ever.
