Principal Report

A report from Principal Tyson Smith

Dear Families,

As we approach the end of Term 1, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on what has been a fantastic start to the year. Walking through the classrooms, it’s been great to see students settling in so well and embracing their learning with enthusiasm.

This year, we’ve placed a strong emphasis on smooth and orderly transitions—whether returning from breaks, moving to specialist classes, or gathering for assembly. I was particularly impressed with everyone’s efforts at last week’s assembly, and I look forward to seeing this continue throughout the year.

Vision and Values Update

As we celebrate our school’s centenary and develop our new School Strategic Plan (SSP), we are taking the opportunity to review our school mission and values. Last year, we gathered valuable feedback from parents on the values they’d like to see embedded in our school community. Currently, we are working closely with School Council, staff, and student leaders to refine these ideas. We look forward to sharing our new school vision and values with you in Term 2!

Harmony Day Celebrations

Despite a last-minute change of plans due to rain, our Harmony Day celebrations were a huge success! Indoor picnics proved to be just as enjoyable, and it was wonderful to see so many families joining in. The vibrant cultural attire and sea of orange reflected the rich diversity of our school community—thank you to everyone who took part in making the day so special.

Looking Ahead

As we wrap up Term 1, we would like to thank our families for their ongoing support. We look forward to an exciting Term 2 filled with new learning opportunities and school events. Wishing you all a safe and restful break!
