TERM 1 WEEK 8 2025

Week 8 Update!

The end of another brilliant term is getting closer, only 3 weeks left.  We are very proud of the teaching and learning that has been happening across the school. As previously mentioned we have had a large focus on explicitly teaching our values and learner qualities. This will continue throughout the year. This approach is a foundation for developing successful learners who are ready for learning.

Learning Conferences

This week we started our Term 1 Learning Conferences.

Reflecting, setting goals and identifying evidence to indicate growth is an essential process for students to improve. This approach is also identified as one of the 10 High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) that is vital for student success.

Well-known educational researcher John Hattie, through his extensive meta-analysis of thousands of educational research findings, states that "establishing challenging goals, rather than 'do your best' goals, is a more effective way of setting expectations for students. Difficult yet achievable goals have an energising effect which motivates students to strive to the highest levels".

We are really looking forward to tracking student goals and seeing their growth over the remainder of Semester 1.

At Monday night's Governing Council Meeting, the following Student Free Days and School Closure were approved.

STAFFING UPDATE

Deputy Principal Announcement

I am extremely excited to announce that Mirjana Faccin has been reappointed as our Deputy Principal for a further 5 years. As we know, Mirjana is a huge asset to LNPS and is passionate about LNPS and continuing to lead our improvement agenda. Congratulations Mirjana!

Farewell to LNPS Team Members

Rheanne Kearnan our wonderful Director has informed the school that she will be resigning on the 16th April to take on a new and exciting role outside the school.

This is very sad news for school community as Rheanne has been has been an integral part of our school community for 7 years, managing and running an exceptional OSHC service. She is going to be missed immensely.

We are also saying farewell to April Adamou, who has been in the front office this term. April's last day with us will be April 3rd. She has transitioned into a school administration role with ease, and will be missed by the school.

Morphett Redevelopment

If you have been past Morphett recently you will have noticed that the redevelopment hasn't progressed very far. We are currently waiting for further recommendations from the builders and engineers. At this stage, we are unable to advise the new completion date. Once we have any updates we will let everyone know.
