Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

You may be wondering, Why do we have Learning Conversations? While it's true that they are a government requirement, the deeper reason is to foster strong, trusting relationships between teachers and parents/carers. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity to share insights about your child's progress, discuss how they feel about school, and exchange information that will enhance both their learning and overall school experience. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers, either in-person or virtually, fully engaged in supporting their child's education yesterday. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to participate in this essential discussion.

Magnify Sandhurst

This week, we are beginning our journey with the new Behaviour Management Framework in collaboration with Knowledge Society. The Leaders Master Class offered a chance to work alongside other Catholic School leadership teams from Bendigo, using both new insights and our existing documents to shape the framework.

Our staff will also take part in a full day of Professional Learning on Tuesday, April 1st, working with educators from other schools to further our understanding.

I’ve often expressed how proud I am of our students—the respect and manners they demonstrate daily are truly impressive. The Behaviour Management Framework will help us build on these strengths and deepen our approach to effective practice in this area.

Principal Lighthouse Awards

This week's recipients are:

Eleanor

Eleanor has been the most incredible leader this year.  Her calm and quiet nature has helped to support her buddy in making a smooth transition to school. Thank you for all you bring to our school, Eleanor.

Yenara

Yenara has a smile that brightens my day.  She quietly goes about her work, challenges herself and is always polite, friendly and positive.  Thank you for making St Therese's a better place, Yenara.

Supervision Hours

Please note the schoolyard is unsupervised before 8:30 am. There were many, many children on the grounds prior to this time. For the safety of your children, I am asking that they are not dropped off at school before 8:30 am.

School Crossing

Thank you to the parents and school community members who have voiced their concerns regarding the Lowndes St School Crossing and have sent letters of concern to the COGB. I am so grateful for your support with this issue.

We have been informed that the Crossing superior support will conclude at the end of this term. I strongly urge you to talk to your children about road safety and, where possible, walk your children across Lowndes St.

As a school, we will continue to discuss road safety with our students and have staff on duty before and after school.
