This is a terrific opportunity to make a positive contribution to the school environment and your child's learning environment.

Families who attend one Working Bee per year will have the $75 maintenance fee credited from their statement.

You are requested to sign in at the desk outside the school office on arrival and to sign out when you depart.  A job list providing outlines of the various tasks to be covered on the morning will be available.

We hope to see you there!

School Photos – Tuesday 18th March                         (No Sports Uniform)

School Photos will be taken on Tuesday 18th March. Please ensure that children are present at school for an 8.45am start so as to avoid your child missing their class photo.

Note: children are required to wear the full school uniform on the day, not the sports uniform.

All students should have received their personalised order flyer. As all orders are placed online there is no need for families to return the order flyer to the school on photography day.

All students will be individually photographed as well as in their class group whether an order has been placed or not.

If you do not want your child photographed on this day or included in the class group photo, please contact the school office.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a day to celebrate Australian multiculturalism. It is an opportunity for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.

Multiculturalism is in Australia's national interest. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to maintain it.

Our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are.

At St. Andrew’s we are both privileged and delighted to have such a diverse community and to acknowledge this our school will celebrate Harmony Day on the 21st of March

We would absolutely love our students to wear their CULTURAL DRESS or something ORANGE as orange has been the Harmony Day colour since the first event was held in 1999.

The day will begin with our usual literacy and numeracy blocks but will then move on to a class Harmony Day Activity followed by a buddy class Harmony Day Activity.

Thank you for your support and happy Harmony Day to you all.

Wellbeing Leader

Parent-Child-Teacher Interviews - Monday 31st March

We invite all families to attend the Term 1 Parent/Child/Teacher Interviews on the afternoon/evening of Monday 31st March.  Interviews will run from 2.30pm through to 7.00pm and conducted in the School Hall.

More information will be posted in next week's newsletter

We remind parents that students are encouraged to be active participants in the interviews.   Should it be necessary to have a private conversation with your child’s class teacher, we recommend that parents simply advise the teacher that they would like their child to remove themselves from the interview for a short period of time.

Optional Child School Attendance – Monday 31st March - 1.35pm-3.15pm

Teaching staff will be released on the afternoon of Monday 31st March to commence ‘Three Way Interviews’.   Children remaining at school for the afternoon block will be grouped in levels and supervised by staff not required at the Interviews.  Parents attending interviews may collect their children from these level gatherings.

Parents do have the option of collecting their children for a shortened school day from 1.35pm.  Collection of children assists staff by reducing the number of children being present in the afternoon block.  Please inform your child’s class teacher in writing if you plan to collect your child from school at this early time.

Parents do not need to sign out from the school office on this day.  Your written notification will be a record of student early exits.

Term 2 interviews will take place on Monday 30th June.   These interviews will involve the presentation of each child’s Semester 1 Report.

No Hat - No Play

Our school has a ‘No Hat – No Play’ SunSmart policy, therefore all children are required to wear their school hat to school, at all outdoor sessions and home from school.
