Around the Classrooms

Year 5/6AP

Good Afternoon Families,

The students of 5/6AP have had an exciting and rewarding term, working hard, forming new friendships, and collaborating with others. They have also drawn inspiration from our inquiry unit on effective learners and learning environments. Outside the classroom, they've represented our school in interschool sports, showing determination and sportsmanship as they compete with other local schools.

Literacy

In Reading, we have focused on identifying and analysing persuasive devices, learning how authors use language to influence their audience. In Writing, the students have had the opportunity to plan and create their own persuasive pieces, applying different devices to express their opinions effectively. For the remainder of the term, they will be engaging with poetry, exploring different types and their features.

Maths

In Math, 5/6AP has been exploring the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The students are building a strong foundation in these essential math concepts, preparing them to solve a wide range of problem-solving scenarios with confidence.

Religion

In Religion, students have been learning about Lent and preparing for Easter through actions and reflections on sacrifice, prayer, and kindness.

We are looking forward to our jam-packed term ahead and making the most of all our learning opportunities.
