Peer Mediation Training

A group of Year 5 students volunteered to be Peer Mediators in 2025, and we had our training in the Multipurpose Room on Tuesday, 18th February. The training was really thorough and we learnt lots!

We started with an awareness test, which challenged us to stay focused and spot small details in a video - it was harder than it looked! Then, we practised different roleplay scenarios to prepare for real-life situations where we might need to help resolve conflicts.

We also learnt about how the brain reacts in stressful situations and how we can help students calm down if they’re upset. Another important part of our training was learning how to position our body and face to show active listening.

To help us put everything into practice, some previous Peer Mediators from 2024 joined us and guided us through different scenarios. Sam and Amy ran the training, and they made it really fun and engaging. Now, we’re feeling confident and excited to start helping students in the yard!

EVERY TIME we visit a school we ask the students, “What do you do online?”. Without fail, we hear “I play Roblox”.

Roblox is an online game platform very popular with young users. It is available on smartphones, PCs, tablets and gaming consoles. Roblox offers endless ways to play and interact with others in a vast virtual world filled with user-generated material.
