Parent Help
Once or twice a term we would greatly appreciate help in covering books.
Boxes of books with contact supplied can be made up and covering can be done at home at your discretion. If you can help out with this we would love to hear from you.
If you are able to assist please email Sharon - HERE.
We will also require assistance in Term 3 for the book fair. Please keep an eye out in Term 2 for more details regarding this.
Mindful Wednesdays
We are excited to announce the return of Mindful Wednesday Mornings, beginning in Week 3 on Wednesday, 12th February. These sessions will be held at 8:45am in 2MS (Michelle’s classroom) and are open to all students.
Mindful Wednesday Mornings offer students a calm, focused start to their day, helping them build emotional regulation, focus, and resilience. Through guided breathing, simple yoga, and visualisation, students develop a positive mindset to face challenges with confidence and begin their day feeling centred and ready to learn.
We look forward to seeing our students embrace this valuable initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a strong wellbeing culture at our school.
School Photo Day - Friday 21st March
School Photo Day is fast approaching on Friday 21st March.
Please stay tuned to Compass for details on how to order.
Celebrating your child's birthday in the classroom
Birthdays are special and we know that many students at Newport Lakes Primary School love to celebrate their birthday with their classmates, and some families even choose to send along something from home.
Small individual treats for all class members are acceptable such as cupcakes, honey joys, chocolate crackles or fruit skewers. Please ensure all treats are nut free and check if any other allergies are in present in your child’s class.
Alternatively, a small gift such as an item of stationery (stickers, erasers, pencils, stamps etc.) to reduce the amount of sugary food bought into the classroom is also welcomed.
Please do not bring lollipops, lolly bags, ice-creams or whole cakes that need to be cut up and distributed.
If your child has allergies, please provide the school/class teacher with a selection of allergy friendly treats from home to be given to your child when a birthday is being celebrated.
Any parent who do not want their child to receive birthday based treats must let the school/class teacher know and also have the option of providing and alternative treat for their child.
