ITALIAN

What's happening in Italian?
Our whole school topic this term is 'People in our Community'. Students in Years 5 and 6 have been expanding their Italian vocabulary by learning the names of community workers and their roles. Through engaging activities and games such as 'Celebrity Heads,' they have been reinforcing their knowledge in a fun and interactive way. Their progress has been impressive, and they are developing confidence in using the language.
Students in Years 3 and 4 are also learning about community workers, focusing on correct pronunciation. They have been practicing by labeling pictures with the names of community workers in Italian, helping to reinforce their vocabulary in a meaningful way. They carried out a Role Play activity where students had to guess who they are in the community.
Our Year 1 and 2 students have been bringing their Italian reading skills to life by matching words to pictures of community workers. It’s been amazing to see their confidence grow as they make connections and expand their vocabulary.
Our prep students have been having so much fun learning basic greetings in Italian! They’ve even learnt a new song called Ciao, Buongiorno! Why not ask them to sing it for you? You’re in for a treat!
Alla prossima volta
saluti,
