Library: Urgent Appeal for Volunteers
Library borrowing is in full swing each Tuesday and we are loving watching the students borrow and increase their love of reading.
We would love to have some parent volunteers each Tuesday. Your jobs may be
- returning books to the shelves
- helping the children borrow and choose books
- tidying the library shelves
- general organisation of the library assistance
- you may be able to volunteer at the same time as your child borrows!
If you would like to volunteer, please contact me on samantha.edwards1@dbb.catholic.edu.au. Normal volunteer processes apply and the CSBB declaration will need to be complete before you start.
Parent Engagement - Kindergarten Home Reading Program Session
Beginning Week Seven (17th March), Kindergarten students will begin bringing home reading books for home learning. This is an exciting and important learning time for students and families. Reinforcement of a love for reading and learning of reading skills is vital at home as well as at school.
We would love to offer parents an information session about how best to engage your child with their home reader with some useful tips that may help you make the most out of this time with your child each day.
Session One - Online only - Thursday 20th March 5pm - link is to follow
Session Two - Online and Face to Face (in the school hall) - Friday 21st March 8:40am
Please only attend one session
If your child is in Year One or Two and you would also like to attend, please feel free.
Sickness at school
As we progress into the cooler weather, if your child presents as unwell with a cold, sniffles, sore throat etc please keep them home until they are well to avoid passing the sickness on. to the class.
