We have had a wonderful couple of weeks engaging in lots of wonderful opportunities. Last week the Year 5/6 students had a wonderful incursion opportunity. On Thursday, the Character Builders Team came into our school.
What was so amazing about this opportunity was that the students were the decision makers for this opportunity and decided the incursion we had!
The Year 5/6 students were given the opportunity to vote which Leadership incursion they would like to engage in. Students found out about each of the three incursion opportunities we could engage in for a leadership incursion. Using student voice, the children decided which leadership incursion they felt would be the most suitable for them, considering what opportunities they would provide and how engaging the incursion sounded.
We can now say that the incursion was a hit, it was so wonderful seeing all the students working in teams with students who they may not collaborate with normally. Also, seeing so many smiles on the students' faces, listening to others and learning many new ideas such as the SERVE Framework.
Please view the 5/6 News to see the childrens reflections about the incursion.

This week, we are excited to celebrate Neurodiversity Week, a time to recognise and appreciate how our brains work differently. Neurodiversity includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more, highlighting the strengths and unique talents of every individual.
Neurodiversity recognises and values different ways of thinking and instead of viewing these as deficits, neurodiversity embraces them as natural variations in the human brain, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives. Around 15-20% of people have a neurological difference. Understanding neurodiversity benefits schools, universities, and workplaces by fostering acceptance and celebrating the unique contributions of all individuals.
At our school, we believe every child learns in their own special way. St. Fidelis promotes understanding, kindness, and inclusion. We encourage everyone to embrace differences and celebrate the incredible diversity in our community!
Let’s make our school a place where everyone feels valued and supported—because different minds make the world brighter!
