Week 8 Term 1

Dear Parents and Carers,

This year,  Catholic Education Week will be celebrated across the Archdiocese of Melbourne from Sunday, 16 March to Sunday, 23 March.

Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to celebrate their Catholic identity, the pivotal role they play within their local community and the strength of the sector.

The theme for 2025 is  “ARISE, SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD HAS RISEN UPON YOU" (Isa 60:1)

Our School Leaders will attend the Mass of St Patrick for Schools this Friday, 21st March, followed by attending the concert in the Park for primary school students.

The Creative Arts Exhibition, which showcases the wonderful artwork of primary and secondary students in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, will run from Sunday, 16th March to Saturday, 22nd March and is open to the general public.

This year, we are proud to once again have finalists from our school featured in the Creative Arts Exhibition at the Celtic Hall, Catholic Leadership Centre, 576 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne. The following artworks from our school are on display:

  • The Resurrection – Year 5/6 students collaborated in pairs to design and sculpt their interpretation of The Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are thrilled that all of their sculptures have been selected for the 2025 exhibition.
  • The Sacred Heart of Jesus – Artwork by Amelia Zaita

We are incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, creativity, and dedication. This is a remarkable achievement, and we are excited to showcase their artistic talents to the wider community.

Here are some of our whole school activities during the week:

  • Learning and Teaching activities during Religious Education around the theme: “ARISE , SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD HAS RISEN UPON YOU" (Isa 60:1)
  • Year 6 Leaders to attend St Patrick's Day Mass at St Patrick's Cathedral & the Primary and Secondary Schools Creative Arts exhibition with Ms Gasbarro and Mr Frazzetto.
  • Year 5/6NT (Mr Nick) class will lead assembly with a focus on Catholic Education week and Harmony Day.
