Staffing update

As we move into Term 2, we have had some changes to our PPS team.

  1. Mrs Jones, our SAO in the front office, has been successful with an Expression of Interest as an Administration Support Officer and will commence the role on Monday 7th April to Sunday 20th July. Wish her all the best in this opportunity.
  2. Mrs Whitfield will be taking leave commencing Term 2 until the end of the year. Wish her all the best in her personal adventures.
  3. Mrs Wilson will return in Term 2 as the APC&I. We warmly welcome her back from Term 2.

Lockdown Drill

Today the school participated in a lockdown drill. The students remained in their classrooms during this time and buildings were placed into lockdown. These drills occur throughout the year to ensure all staff and students are aware of the processes in case of an emergency.

2nd hand uniform shop

On Thursday 10th April, the second hand uniform shop will be open in Block C (near kindergarten classrooms) from 9-9.45am. This is a perfect opportunity to purchase items in preparation for the cooler weather.

Online safety

On Wednesday, Stage 3 students engaged in a session with Cst Zoe Marshall and Snr Cst Renee Vickers who came to discuss online safety. The discussion reminded students of the legal age to be on different online platforms as well as strategies to stay safe when online.

Through the Esafety commission there is information and webinars available to give parents and carers knowledge, skills and tools to support children at home to be safe online.

Wear it Wild

I wish to thank our SRC leaders and Mrs Zell and Mrs Lempriere for their organisation of the Wear it WIld fundraiser. The funds raised will be donated to the World Wide fund for Nature - raising awareness to protect and take action for our planet.

Stage 2 Excursion

Students, parent helpers and staff had a wonderful experience at the Symbio excursion on Wednesday which supported their learning in Science this term. Thank you for the organisation for the Stage 2 team in preparation for this event to Miss Kostaglou.

Ranger Jamie - Kindergarten

Kindergarten had a very engaging and exciting incursion at school yesterday. Aligning to the Science content, students enjoyed being outside in the highly engaging day around the environment while building shelters and bird boxes. Thank you Mrs Maclachlan for all of the time and effort put into running this

Indigenous Garden - Quiet area

Over the past few years, the staff and students in the Aboriginal Education team have been building their knowldge around plants that are endemic to our local environment. By collaborating with the Botanic Gardens and the Native Nursary at Heathcote, the Indigenous garden has been enhanced with new plants, signage and our school acknowldgement of country. If you are in the school grounds, please have a walk through and learn a little about these plants.

It has been rewarding and enjoyable fulfilling this role over the past 3 weeks. I want to thank the executive team for their support during this time. Mrs Bentley will be returning from her leave next week.

I wish everyone a happy and healthy break during the school holiday period.

Staff will return for professional learning on Monday April 28 and Tuesday April 29, with students commencing their first day of Term 2 on Wednesday 30 April.
