Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Child Safety
As you are aware bullying is a challenge that all schools have to deal with. At Nazareth College we are endeavouring to do all we can to make our school a safe and happy place for all members of our community. We have a Child Safety Team that meets each fortnight to support and plan for the safety of all students.
On Tuesday, 25 March 2025 at 10.00am our Child Safety Team is meeting at the College and we are inviting any interested Parents, Guardians and Carers to attend as we all share the topic of bullying - any bullying issues at our school you are aware of and ways to follow up and be supportive of the safety of all students. If you would like to attend this meeting, please email: Justin.Duckett@nazareth.vic.edu.au
Road Safety
We continue to hear reports of students crossing the road out the front of the school to get to their car and not utilising the supervised pedestrian crossings. We have been advised that Parents, Guardians, Carers are encouraging children to cross the road away from the supervised pedestrian crossings. Can we please all work together for the safety of our children and encourage all children crossing the road to use the supervised pedestrian crossings.
Working Hard
The last few weeks have seen a different program with a Public Holiday, Staff Professional Development Day, Whole School Swimming Carnival, modified timetables for Ash Wednesday, Open School Evening and a Whole School Mass. In the second half of a busy term it has been good for the students to have a bit of a change in routine. We encourage all students to continue working hard for the remainder of the term, building on all the good work done in the early weeks.
Partnership
As we continue to work in partnership supporting you as the primary educators of your children, we encourage you to please contact the relevant staff member at the College should there ever been any concerns, issues or information that would be good for us to be aware of to be able better support your child. A reminder that, if in doubt, the Pastoral teacher is the best first point of contact for Parents, Guardians and Carers.
Praying that this season of Lent is one of grace and growth for you.
God Bless
Mr Justin Duckett
