Season of Lent
Lent is a special season in the Catholic Church that lasts for 40 days, beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending at Easter. It is a time to reflect, pray, and grow closer to God.
In this Jubilee Year, Lent is a time to think about how we can bring hope to others through our deeds and actions. It is a time when we prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter, preparing to celebrate Jesus' resurrection.
At school, we will be learning about Lent through stories, activities, and prayers. The whole school attended the Parish Ash Wednesday Mass yesterday, where students had an opportunity to receive ashes on their foreheads, reminding them to follow Jesus more closely during this season of Lent.
Shrove Tuesday
To commemorate the beginning of the season of Lent, all of the classes made pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. Here are some insights from the Year 3/4s about their experience:
