Week 8 already! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Welcome BBQ and provided such lovely feedback about a positive start to our year at BBPS. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to connect. Thanks again to Kyle and all our helpers at the BBQ.

Congratulations to Vivi F who is now a State Champion in Little Athletics.. Vivi achieved the following results, which are a testament to her discipline and determination:
400m - 1st
800m - 2nd
1500m - 3rd
Well done to our Grade 3 and 5 students who this week completed NAPLAN testing in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Mathematics. Final catch up sessions will be completed by Monday.
Today we honoured Harmony Day, many thanks to families who participated in grade specific activities that built an understanding of heritage and cultural diversity within our community. Well done to our Grade 6s on a brilliant Friendship Lunch – more on these in our next newsletter (when our leaders have had a chance to write it up!)
Don't forget we have our working bee this Sunday in our Kitchen Garden. Big thanks to Marnie Lewis for supporting Shane (our General Maintenance Coordinator) and Miss Wendy to organise this event. If you are able to help please make your way to the kitchen garden on arrival 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Anytime is appreciated. STEM DAY is coming! On Friday, 28th March students will be engaging in a range of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical activities within their year level to launch our STEM program for 2025. We look forward to sharing our learning with you.
Grade 3/4 will continue their STEM journey in term 2, participating in a series of robotics sessions, facilitated by www.inspirerobotics.com.au
School Council: We welcome our 2025 School Council, who met for the first time earlier this week.
We thank David Capps, who this year steps down as School Council President after many years of invaluable support. From all of our community, thank you! David continues on as a member of School Council in Josh’s final year at BBPS.
Thank you to Merline McGregor (Archie, Grade 1) who takes on the role of School Council President for 2025, supported by John Larman as Vice President (Bella, Grade 6) and Simon Birch again as Treasurer (Annie, Grade 3).
We are fortunate to have Stephanie Genge (Thomas, Gr 5 and Jamie, Gr 2) continue in her role as council member, along with Kylie White and Will Crossland as Department of Education representatives. We welcome Georgie and Scott Jackson (Charlie, Gr 4 and Oscar, Gr 2), Lynne Donnelly (Grace, Prep; Billy, Gr 3; and Charlotte, Gr 4) and Niels Boehm (Bror, Gr 2; Axel, Gr 6).
What a team!
SRC Badge Presentation Assembly is on Monday, 2:30pm in the Hall (beginning soon after).
End of term: School finishes on April 4 at 2:30 pm. Our Easter Raffle will take place at 10:00 am, thank you to the wonderful PA team who are busy organising this event. See the PA section of the newsletter for details.
Term 2 dates for the diary: School returns awkwardly between Easter and Anzac Day.
Monday 21st April – Easter Monday
Tuesday 22nd April to Thursday 24th April – School returns
