ICT

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our Digital Literacy e-safety immersion continues throughout our school.

Digital Literacy is considered a foundational skill, alongside Literacy and Numeracy. A key learning focus includes, practicing digital safety and wellbeing, while investigating, creating and communicating with digital technologies. Students have been learning to manage their online safety, developing skills to address online risks.

JLA recently completed their last session in the computer lab learning about being respectful online. You can take a look at some of the e-safety learning HERE.

If you would like to create a 'Family Tech Agreement' with your child, go HERE for supporting resources. This would be a great time to consolidate the learning of our JLA students, who are familiar with good online habits ~ being responsible, respectful, knowing how to trust their feelings and being an investigator of online information.

Ask your child about Wanda, River, Dusty and Billie!

Our MLA and SLA students have continued to learn about efficient Microsoft applications available on their devices and which are accessible with their Microsoft login.

These include, Microsoft Onenote class notebook and the ’Immersive Reader’ embedded within some applications.

Ask your child to demonstrate the immersive reader to you. It is rich in features that supports your child in their reading fluency and independence.

Students are also learning about being safe and responsible digital citizens and learners through these learning applications. Ask your child to show you their digital learning plans located in their class notebook for more detail. We will continue to work through these lesson plans over the next couple of weeks.

Below are some images of students during their Digital Literacy learning time on Friday!
