Our School Charism - BE THE LIGHT
At Holy Family, our charism, "Be the Light," is more than just a phrase—it is a call to action, inspired by the remarkable life of Nano Nagle, the founder of the Presentation Sisters. Nano dedicated her life to bringing hope, education, and faith to those in need, often carrying a lantern through the dark streets of Ireland to teach children in secret.
Her unwavering commitment to service, compassion, and justice continues to inspire our school community. As parents, you play a vital role in helping your children embrace this charism in their daily lives. Encouraging kindness, standing up for others, and fostering a love of learning are all ways that your children can "Be the Light" in their own world.
This term, we invite families to reflect on how Nano Nagle’s legacy can inspire us all to bring light to those around us. Whether it’s through small acts of kindness, a commitment to learning, or supporting those in need, together we can continue her mission.
Let’s work as a community to "Be the Light"—just as Nano Nagle did!
Jubilee Year 2025: Pilgrims of Hope
As we prepare for the Jubilee Year 2025, the Catholic Church invites us all to embrace the theme "Pilgrims of Hope." A Jubilee is a sacred time of renewal, mercy, and joy, calling us to deepen our faith and strengthen our commitment to God and one another.
Hope is at the heart of our journey as Christians. In a world that can sometimes feel uncertain, the Jubilee reminds us that we are never alone—we walk together, trusting in God’s love and guidance. Just as pilgrims set out with faith on a sacred journey, we are encouraged to reflect on our own spiritual path, seeking ways to bring hope into our families, our school, and our wider community.
Throughout the year, our school will engage in activities that reflect this theme, helping our children grow in faith, kindness, and resilience. As parents, you are key guides on this journey, encouraging your children to live with hope, share it with others, and trust in God's plan.
Let us walk together as Pilgrims of Hope, embracing this Jubilee year with hearts full of faith and love!
