READING
In reading, we are focusing on learning about short reads and their purpose. Students are exploring how short texts, such as articles, stories, and passages, are designed to convey information or tell a story in a concise way. This lesson helps them analyse the key messages in short reads and understand their intended impact on the reader.
WRITING
This week, we are learning how to write persuasive texts, where students practise convincing others to agree with their opinion or take action. They are exploring different techniques to present their arguments clearly and persuasively.
Our Grade 6 students are focusing on writing narratives and have been working with their prep buddies to create and share stories. This is a great way for the older students to apply their writing skills while supporting the younger ones in their learning.
MATHS
In maths, students are learning to partition, rearrange, regroup, and rename two- and three-digit numbers using both standard and non-standard groupings. Through these activities, they are gaining a deeper understanding of place value and developing flexible strategies for working with numbers.
