Canteen Volunteers

We would love some more people to volunteer for our canteen roster. Our canteen runs at lunchtimes on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The rostered persons prepare and heat the ordered items and package them to be delivered to the classrooms. Most volunteers arrive at 12pm and are done and dusted by 2pm. You do not have to be available every week, you can just put your name down to help a couple of times a term. If you are able to give us a hand please contact the office.

NAPLAN

Students in Years 3 and 5 are scheduled to participate in the NAPLAN suite of tests on March 12th, 13th and 14th. They will be joined by students in Years 3,5,7 and 9 from across Australia as part of the online yearly testing program which assesses individual students in the areas of Reading, Writing, Language Conventions and Numeracy. Families of students due to participate are welcome to contact the school if they have any questions or concerns. You can also click on the link below for more information.

Meet and Greet

It was wonderful to have many of our families attend the Meet and Greet sessions on Tuesday. These sessions are a great way to touch base with your child/ren's teacher/s and set up a great year of learning. Please remember that you are welcome to make contact with your child/ren's teacher/s at any stage throughout the year by either sending a message on Xuno directly to the teacher/s or ringing the office to arrange a time to catch up.

School Council

The first meeting of the year will be held at the school at 6pm on Tuesday 25th of February. Newly elected councilors do not need to attend and 2024 council members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Our AGM and March meeting is on March 18th.  At this meeting our new office bearers will be elected.

As we received a corresponding number of nominations for our vacancies, we do not need to have an election. I would like to announce Jackson Gray and Taylah Smith as our Department of Education representatives and Kerryn Giorgianni and Mel Gowler as our parent category representatives. They will join Anna Kemp, Breanna Giddings, Georgia James, Mel Sproal-Portwine, Daniel Portwine, Jackie Newth and Lisa Duffy (for Term 1) as your 2025 school council representatives.

Peace Garden Items

As you can see from the photo  our students enjoy playing in the Peace Garden. This area includes lots of medium sized to larger items (suitable for outdoor use) that they can build with, explore and manipulate as part of creative play. We are seeking some donations of sturdy and safe items such as old pots, kitchen utensils such as sieves and colanders, crates, gadgets and materials from farms or trade. Please see a member of staff if you have anything that you think may be of use.

Parent Information Sessions Opportunity

Echuca Twin Rivers School have extended an invitation to parents and Carers from our school community to attend some information sessions. There are three sessions, participants are able to attend a single or multiple sessions. Each session has a different focus (see flyer below). There is no need to book, just sign in at the front office of Twin Rivers School just before the session time.

That's all for this week, Lisa Duffy.
