Preparing Our Hearts for Lent

As we approach the season of Lent, we are invited to slow down and reflect on the love and sacrifice of Jesus. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of this special time, a season of preparing our hearts, focusing on prayer, and seeking ways to grow closer to God.

In our busy lives, it can be easy to rush from one thing to the next - packing lunches, finding lost school socks! Lent calls us to pause. To take a deep breath. To remember that God's love is always with us.

Lent is not just about giving something up. It’s about making space for God. Maybe that means setting aside time to pray, showing kindness to someone in need, or simply taking a moment to be still. For our children, it can be as simple as saying a short prayer at bedtime, helping a friend, or listening with an open heart.

As we begin this journey, may we use this time to reflect, to renew, and to remember God’s deep and unchanging love for us.

Loving God, as we prepare for the season of Lent, help us to slow down and draw closer to You. Guide our hearts to be kind, our words to be gentle, and our actions to reflect Your love. May we use this time to grow in faith and to share Your goodness with others. Bless our school community as we walk this journey together. Amen.

Wishing you all a meaningful and blessed Lent.
