Music Matters
Congratulations to:
- The Intermediate Concert Band, who competed in the NSW State Band Championships on Sunday in Penrith where they placed 2nd overall (by one point!) and won the test piece section (a great achievement!). We had about 50 students performing in the band, and they have worked incredibly hard under the direction of the talented Ms Laura Power to achieve this placing.
- The 15 students from Years 8 - 12 who were awarded Blue Colour awards for their contribution to the Music ensembles program.
Come and watch…
‘Splinters, Splashes, Stage, Snaps, Stories and Sound’ – tonight: Thursday 29 August, from 6:00 pm. Each of our HSC Music 1, Music 2 and Extension students perform a piece from their HSC repertoire. This is a great experience for our younger musicians, especially Elective Music students to come and witness the variety of styles and genres that students present for their HSC performance examination and will also feature some of their compositions. You are welcome to come and see some or all of the performances in the Band Room from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
