Jersey Day

Next Friday, in conjunction with our Father's Day celebrations, we are holding Jersey Day at the college.  Jersey Day is in support and awareness of organ and tissue donation.

Students can wear their favourite jersey during school hours (wearing normal winter uniform to and from school).

2025 Student Leaders Retreat

Student Reflection

Our 2025 student leaders began their journey of growth and learning to listen with a retreat to Workul Koo at the beginning of the week. On Monday, when the students arrived, they focused on their spiritual growth and servant leadership, facilitated by Mr Petrie. With a strong focus on what makes a leader, the students honed in on scriptures that were highly applicable to their endeavours ahead. A pre-recorded address from Father David gave valuable guidance to all the anointed leaders for 2025, offering encouragement such as 'A shepherd is involved in his flock.'

On day two, the boys began to strengthen their relationships through sessions focused on building bonds between the leaders. Through a 'Johari window' exercise, the students described to their peers the qualities they believed their partners possessed that were reflective of their leadership abilities. Moreover, through activities such as a yarning circle, the leaders for 2025 learnt how interconnected their interests and ideas were, fostering a sense of inclusive community amongst all the students. Mr Maloney’s words, 'two ears but one mouth,' resonated with all the boys and echoed 2023’s theme of listening to learn, learning to listen. With some time on the beach at the end of the day, the boys experienced a meditative sunset and truly felt blessed with such an amazing experience.

On the third day of the retreat, the leaders-elect presented their leadership goals, which had been carefully developed the previous evening, to the Principal, Mr Ronchetti. This presentation represented a significant milestone in the beginning of their leadership journey, as they showcased their dedication to leading with integrity and purpose. Afterwards, the group travelled to St Edmund’s, a co-educational school that supports students with a differing range of abilities. This visit provided a meaningful opportunity to observe the students' activities, culminating in their participation in a vibrant school event—a magic show that was thoroughly enjoyed by St Edmund’s and Pius members alike. These experiences highlighted the value of connection, collaboration, and the shared joy of community. A special thank you to Mr Gillogly, Mr Maloney, Mrs Bamber, Mr Ronchetti and Mr Petrie, for volunteering their time to this transformative journey for our leaders for 2025.
