Nude Food Friday

On Friday Miss Middlin will be running a Nude Food competition. This competition is aiming to promote sustainability across the school. Nude Food is simply food that is not wrapped in foil, plastic or commercial packaging. On Friday selected students will be allocated a time to survey classes to see how many have brought Nude Food to school. The class with the most students with the most Nude Food will receive the new Nude Food Trophy. Last week’s winners were 4JD!

Every fortnight we will be having a STEM question for students to answer. The questions will be posted in the school's newsletter. These questions will not be compulsory but will be a bit of fun and a challenge for students. Students can write their answer on a piece of paper and place it in the appropriate box inside the STEM room. At the end of the week Miss Middlin will do a lucky dip and select one student from Prep- 2 will receive a small science related prize. This week’s question is found below.

National Science Week

Last week at Buninyong Primary School we celebrated National Science Week. It was fantastic to see so many students engaged in the activities. During the week students completed a range of activities during class time and during lunchtime clubs. These activities included a scavenger hunt, craft activities, animal origami and a car competition.

Chemistry P-2 Term 4

Throughout Term four students will be exploring chemical science in STEM. During the term students will be provided with a range of learning experiences including cooking and consuming the foods they make. As part of their learning the students will make a variety of foods and drinks.

Due to the nature of the activities, I understand that some students may have allergies to the ingredients used in the lessons. If your child/ children have allergies or are unable to consume any of the ingredients listed below, could you please let me know via email by Monday September 2 so I can make alternative arrangements for your child.
