Before, After and Holiday Care @ St Mary's
Hello Families and Friends,
We are so excited to share with you all what we have been getting up to at TheirCare over the last few weeks. Further to this, we cannot wait to tell you all about the upcoming ‘Spring Carnivale!’ Holiday Program.
Week 7 – ‘Minute To Win It’
This week the room was filled with so much joy. The children thoroughly enjoyed playing multiple rounds of ‘Backyard’ Cricket on the Mini Turf. It was amazing to see them bond through teamwork. On Monday, the children enjoyed utilising all of the new sensory toys at the service and had competitions to see how many buttons they could press in a minute. On Tuesday, the fun continued as the children made their very own scratch art glasses! It was amazing to see all the colourful designs around the room. On Wednesday, the children got busy making Father’s day cards for the special adults in their lives. It was extremely heartwarming to see them show their appreciation for these people. Moving on to Thursday we enjoyed the majority of our afternoon outside and the children were obsessed with the ‘Crumpet Churros’ that we made as a snack. We ended our week on Friday by making some toasties and watching High School Musical.
Week 8 – ‘Science Spectacular’
This week the children have immersed themselves with all things Science. They have been extremely creative and put so much hard work into all of the activities we have undertaken. In particular, their favourite activity has been the ‘Lemon Explosion’ where they erupted lemons! On Monday, the children got busy making their very own Scientific Earth Keyring. They used a range of art mediums to create a design that was personal to them. On Tuesday, the children got busy in the kitchen investigating how liquids turn to solids as they made Jelly. They were so excited to see their final product in the afternoon, and even better, so excited to taste it. On Wednesday the fun continued as we blew up Ziploc monsters. This was so exciting and the children were thrilled to see the different colours explode. We intend to end our week with more science fun by experimenting with melting Poms Poms and Ice Painting.
Holiday Program
We are so excited to announce that this Term’s Holiday Program’s theme is ‘Spring Carnivale!’ Bookings for this program are officially open on FullyBooked. We are extremely lucky to be heading out on some fantastic excursions these Holidays whereby we will be going to the Movies (Wild Robot), Archery Attack and Luna Park! As always, there is also many ‘In House’ days with ranging themes that develop from the concept of Spring. The activities within these days branch from the ideas of Science, Craft and Sports. We are so excited to see all that the children will enjoy and look forward to seeing as many individuals at the program as possible.
Sun Safety
Being in Term 3, we would like to reassure all parents and guardians that we closely monitor the Temperature and UV Rays before engaging in outdoor play and Hats are worn as required. Further to this we continue to ensure that sunscreen is always applied, if your child requires a specific sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can accommodate for this!
Many Thanks,
Swaye and Ellie
