Assistant Principal Reports

Hello Everyone,

Parents / Caregivers / Guardians Survey

A huge thankyou to all of the families who have already completed this survey!

We would also like to extend the invitation to our families to come and make a time to speak with one of our school leadership team should you have any specific concerns, as the survey does not provide you with an opportunity to explain any concerns. If we are not aware of an issue, we cannot work with all who may be affected to make the situation better.

For those families who may not yet have done the survey, please know that the survey is conducted by an independent company, Orima, and all of your responses are anonymous

If you are having trouble accessing the survey at home, there are some iPads available at school for you to use, please ask for one at the office

The survey will now remain open online until Friday 20 September 2024.

We sent you an invitation to complete the survey via Compass and email on Monday 29th July. I have resent the invitation and instructions to access the survey on Tuesday 20th August.

The survey is available in English and 10 other languages: Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If you require assistance in another language, resources may be available for you.

Should you have any questions about the survey, please see the office.

Dear Parents, Carers and Students of DPWPS,

We have had a couple of exciting weeks at Deer Park West Primary School!

Last week we celebrated our 2024 statewide Book Week ‘Reading is Magic’. It was brilliant to have so many students be involved in decorating their classroom door as part of Book Week. Students engaged in readings of shortlisted texts and listened to special readings in the library. I would like to personally thank Mrs Natalie Gara for coordinating various events during Book Week.

This week we celebrated Science Week! We opened our classrooms and invited our families to attend a ‘Science Fun Afternoon’. National Science week is Australia’s annual celebration of Science and Technology. It runs each year in August, and it features events around Australia. Science Week is designed for everyone, and it aims to encourage an interest in science to encourage children to be fascinated by the world we live in.
