What a Night!

Beach Party Trivia Night Makes a Huge Splash!

We are thrilled to report that our recent Trivia Night was a fantastic success, raising an outstanding $9,736 for our school! This is the largest fundraising event we have had for a very long time and it was truly a night to remember. There were over 25 amazing raffle prizes, 30 silent auction items and everyone truly dug deep in support of the night.

The trivia night, which took place last Saturday, had a beach party theme that transported everyone straight to the shores of summer. Everyone got into the spirit of the event. We had multiple lifeguards on hand, a few Barbie and Ken’s and Hawaiian shirts as far as the eye could see! It was truly a colourful paradise.

From the moment our guests arrived, they were transported to the warmth of the summer sun, the whitest of sandy beaches and the bluest of crystal-clear oceans. Our amazing team of decorators transformed the Holy Family Hall to a tropical paradise. It was then time for everyone to put their heads together to tackle a wide range of questions and games. The famous musical chairs game was yet again a hotly contested competition with over 25 people participating. There could only be one winner though and this year it went to a Prep parent who outlasted and outplayed all other competitors. Truly a remarkable effort!

Laughter and cheers filled the air as participants racked their brains on everything from entertainment to sport and general knowledge. In the end, it was ‘Sorrento Beach’ made up of the Holy Family teachers and staff that took home the top prize, earning them bragging rights for the year and individual trophis, some of which you may see on proud display in the office.

The highlight of the night though was undoubtedly the community spirit on display. It was wonderful to see old and new families interacting and socialising in a fun and relaxed environment.

A special thank you goes out to our trivia committee who all worked tirelessly to make this event such a success. They organised the trivia, the décor, the set up and pack up, the donations and everything in between. It was truly a case of many hands make light work and we are extremely grateful for the time they gave to make this event such a success. An enormous thank you too to the many businesses and families who so generously donated a wide range of prizes and gifts for the evening. The success of the event would not have been possible without the endless generosity of our community.

All the funds raised from this event will go directly to the school and to enhancing our learning resources.

Lastly, a huge thank you to all the people who attended the night. There were a lot of first timers and by the feedback we have had, they will be back for more fun and entertainment next year! If you missed out this year, don’t fear, the plans for next year’s event are already starting to simmer and we plan to make it bigger and better - so watch this space!
